Awakening the Future of Health Care

How do we move away from the overworked, underpaid, stressed out lifestyle that permeates society, creating chronic illness and constant worry?
Unburdened Health explores improving health on a personal level, by looking at changing current structures in community, national and global support systems. This will inspire you to transform your health, your life, and build a better world for your children.

"This idea all started when, one day I was taking a mental health day from work. I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed, and really needed a place to go to be silent, supported and free to journal, read or meditate. I could not be at home for this, as I'd be unable to relax while looking at all the things needing to be done. I did not want to be at a coffee shop listening to conversations, noise, or be around overstimulating busyness and scents.

I began searching online for a place to go with a calming view, comfortable seating, whether it be on the floor, mats, carpet, couches or chairs. I wanted a silent space to breathe and reconnect to my center. After an hour, I was disappointed, sadly settling for a walk and a nap. I realized that I can't be the only one needing a place like this. A place where I can get what I need to take care of my body, mind and spirit, contributing to my wellness, feeling reconnected.

Daydreaming more about this peaceful place, my mind began expanding the idea into a larger community space, that would support all kinds of individual, family, children, elderly, human needs. For those looking for help medically, for physical awareness and strength building, for mindfulness or meditation classes, learning to take care of the land, tutorials on building with natural materials, to support healthy growth and development for their children, for those wanting to connect with themselves, connect with their passion and creativity, with nature, learn how to grow food, cook with what is grown, and serve their communities with love and communion with one another. For us to actually see each other with compassion, and create bonds with the people who live in our communities.

When was the last time you felt connected to a community in its entirety, immersed in love, encouraged to grow and learn at your own pace while challenging yourself and discovering communal solutions?

Do you still feel that connection, do you feel uplifted, part of something greater than how you feel in moments of doubt, despair, fear? Do you allow yourself to be vulnerable and authentic to yourself, around others? Why or why not?

We tend to give away so much of our power to what we perceive others think about us. When was the last time you truly gave no import to what someone else would think, say or do if they saw you bare and honest in sharing your gifts? Do you know your gifts are worth sharing? Do you fear criticism more than enduring the pain of not being authentic?

How would it change your life if you felt supported and encouraged to be who you truly are, embracing your gifts and challenges, and being allowed to share your heart and soul with those who understand you, who share your enthusiasm, your desires to strive for authentic connection with yourself? Expressing yourself gives you the power to uplift yourself and inspire others, through your unique creativity. There is nobody else like you. The world needs your unique gifts."
