A Furry Friend Forever is the story of Drew, a 5 year old, son of Dill
Meg, who deals with loneliness and trying to do things to cope up with it, then finally meet his furry friend, Check, a chocolate labrador puppy brought home by Dad.
Quirky combination of how to deal with loneliness and adopt a dog.
Since preschoolers care deeply about friends and how to deal with loneliness , I think readers will identify with Drew and find him an appealing character as he learns that you can deal with loneliness in a good way, like adopt a dog. By doing this, loneliness in kids and in dogs are being cast away.
There are some delighters in form of 'hidden' jokes appeal only for parents who read for their children. Hope this will spark curiosity in children's mind to ask you what's so funny about that. You can blend in your own story about that delighters in your point of view.
Parents want to teach their kids about friendship and how to deal with loneliness. Just telling them what friendships are and learn to tackle the feeling of loneliness is just one way to do it.
