About the author

Lexi comes from a biracial and multi cultural background, a fusion of western African influences and Central European values. Growing up in this rich cultures so diverse yet so similar, she was introduced to a world of tales and folklore from a very tender age, which helped her developed a keen sense for adventure and story telling.

She wrote her first book (not published) when she was 3 years old a short illustration with words, titled “how a butterfly found its way home” she has since written 5 books till date.

She has a passion for animals, nature, fashion, photography, music, yoga and dancing. Using her own words “I love doing a lot of things but when I sit down to write, I just let it go and the words flow all around me like I am part of the story I am writing” . Lexi lives in Bratislava with her parents.

Synopsis

Mira’s Vet Diary is, the first in a story series, a narrative book centered around pets and written from different perspectives showing flashbacks and current happenings around the pets and the people in their lives.

In the first chapter, Mira describes how a woman brought in a wounded stray cat into her pet clinic and how she battled to save the pet’s life. The woman’s apparent joy that the cat could be saved, made a decision to adopt the stray cat by presenting it to her daughter, Paula, as her birthday present.

The second chapter swivel to a narrative about Paula, her party, her friends, her appearance, and the breath stopping surprise when she met the Cat. Named Storm, the striking similarity in both hers and the cats eyes color and the bond of friendship that developed between them.

The third chapter is a flashback to Storm, the cat story. His life struggles from a pet’s shelter and his inability to find an adoptive home, leading him to escape from the shelter and meeting with Elliot, a boy with a sadder story than Storm. The twist of fate that led him to flee this temporary home and the events that led to his eventful meeting with Emilia, the woman who found him wounded and took him to Mira the Vet.

The fourth chapter focuses on the everyday life of Storm and Paula and how happy they were, the chapter also explores the importance of caring and loving pets and treating them well.

The final chapter is another twist of fate! Did Storm runaway again? Would he ever be found? Can a cat bring Paula and Elliot together? And can a cat bring so much joy into multiple people’s life? Because of Storm, will Elliot also finally find a happy home?
