Pleased To Meet You

This is a fiction story set in the modern London. The idea for this story came to me a bit by chance; I love London and what I had in mind was that I wanted to set my story in this city. I like the stories seasoned with mystery and seemingly inexplicable events. 

The very first rough version of this story I am writing was published in 2012 in Italian, on a digital platform. The original concept of the story was of 10 episodes (no more than 5000 characters per episode).

Despite the original concept of Pleased To Meet You was written in Italian, the English title came to me spontaneous. To be honest, the title is the first thing that came to my mind, clear and limpid. I searched and studied other titles for my story, but for me this was the most suitable. I wanted to enclose the concept of the book in a few words. I hope I have succeeded it well.

WHY WRITE THIS BOOK?

At the end of the 10 episodes, I felt that there was more that could be told; it was as if the characters were trapped in a narrow plot and asked me for help to get out.
Pleased To Meet You, set in the modern London, affects both the present and the future. So do you wonder what (or at who) Pleased To Meet You is related to?

I am still writing the story, but here is the idea:

Sarah Smith is a 12-years-old foster kid. Since the age of 8, lives in foster families. In four years, she had met seven foster families, who always took her back to the orphanage. When Sarah is nearby, strange and inexplicable events occur, upsetting the lives of the people around her. So much so that every time the foster families, after very careful consideration, concluded that Sarah could somehow attract bad luck. Coincidences?
On the other hand, someone wants to prevent Sarah, because of these strange phenomena, from remembering who she really is and so bring order to the chaos created in the space time fractures.

WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?

It is really for everyone, starting from 12 years old.

WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO WITH THE FUNDS YOU RAISE?

I will use the funds to:

• design a brand new cover art work;
• finish the manuscript;
• hire a professional editor;
• format the book both for digital and traditional print;
• print five 500 copies to begin with;
• fees for Publishizer fundraiser hosting;
• ISBN, volume, Metadata and copyright costs;
• printing and hardcover costs;
• shipment of printed books;
• Contribution Incentives and Rewards.

HOW DO I PLAN TO MARKET MY BOOK?

I will mainly promote my book through social networks such as:

• facebook;
• twitter;
• instagram;
• pinterest;

- my website;

- I will provide digital copies of the book to reviewers. I think that reviews are a crucial part.

SAMPLE CHAPTERS

My novel isn't finished yet; I am still working on it, I'm at 25%. After writing the novel, I have to read it carefully and then submit it to a editor. So, it isn't possible for me to upload at least one sample chapter.  But I can include here the opening of my novel. These are just the first two phrases, but I know exactly the beginning of it and it won't change:

"From the death of her parents four years ago, this was the first time where Sarah could say she was truly happy. She had not felt in good spirits in a long time, and nothing unusual had happened yet: no voices, no noises or unexplained episodes in her presence."
