Peter Lynch is the creator of the award winning app; Digital Fridge, TEDx Speaker, Fortune 500 Global Executive, Author and Keynote Speaker. He lives in Denver, Colorado and is a proud husband and father to 3 amazing kids.

He has held multiple executive roles at Fortune 500 companies. These included Vice President roles in areas such as Global Operations, Global Change Process and Global Training.

Perhaps what sets him apart is that he’s managed to carve out success in both the cubicle and the coffee shop. Because he’s also an entrepreneur. His app, Digital Fridge, has been downloaded in more than 70 countries, and was twice a finalist, once a winner for Denver’s Hottest Startup. But his start-up story isn’t exactly typical.

Peter has leveraged this experience to become a sought out speaker and writer. His recent TEDx talk to 2,300 people has led to the creation of his book, "The Culdesac Startup".

Overview

Growing up in a single-wide mobile home in rural Washington state, I never believed a startup was in the cards for me. Those were the dreams of someone that came from more means. Thank goodness this all changed in my early twenties, when I helped a friend open a restaurant while I had a day job. We grew it to over 12 locations and in the process I began to realize that I could become an entrepreneur!

Over the next 15 years, I continued working my way up the corporate ladder, and all the while, building and learning. I was blessed to have imported a product from overseas and pitch it to the home shopping network, brokered a $10 million NASCAR deal, launched an online training company and developed an iPhone app that was downloaded in over 70 countries and won Denver's Hottest Startup!

And I did this while having a day job as an executive at several Fortune 500 companies. What I found was that having a day job didn't have to hinder my ability to create startups, rather it provided some key benefits.

I truly built my startups in the culdesac...I built them while having a full-time job and I did it with some simple truths.

The funds from this campaign will be used for professional editing and design, and for the first print run.

Additionally, If I reach the goal of selling 500 copies, I will donate 50 copies to local high schools for use in business class and general reading.

Timeline

Writing: The book is currently about 35% completed. I will finish the writing of this book by the end of March.

Editing: The book will be edited in as I progress. I have a copywriter that has already started editing the content as it is completed.

Publication: The book is expected to be printed and delivered by mid-2016.

My plan is to self-publish this book according to the above timeline. However, it's also possible to attract a publisher based on this campaign. If 500 copies are pre-ordered, there is a greater chance a quality publisher may be interested in distributing this book.
