Dr. Travelbest and her daughter are passionate about helping active senior women to travel independently, and for 25 years, has advised thousands of women on travel worldwide.
Dr. Mary Beth McCabe (AKA Dr. Mary Travelbest) is known for previous publications in non-fiction. She's been traveling by herself since she was three. Just ask her mom. When The World's First Guide to Independent Travel was published in 1993, she reserved the entire San Diego Air & Space Museum for a huge book signing party. With a background in TV and radio, and good PR, she was interviewed on NBC7 and KPBS, as well as featured on the front cover of the national American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) Travel Publication Guide, and several other magazines. She is an Associate Professor at National University. Her Doctorate is in Marketing, from United States International University and MBA from DePaul University. She has circled the globe several times, visiting nearly every continent.
The co-author, Christina Shubat (AKA Ms. Christina Travelbest) graduated from St. Mary's College (CA) (cum laude) with a degree in Business Administration, and works for Genentech in San Francisco, while she studies for her Master's Degree. She is the 21-year old daughter of Dr. McCabe and has traveled globally independently to China, France, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada and several US locations.
